Note for the operator: This template is a starting point and does not constitute legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a lawyer and adapt it to your specific business model before going live.

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of the “Blackline AI” service (the “Service”), provided by the operator (see Imprint). By using the Service, the user agrees to these terms.

2. Service description

The Service enables automated and manual redaction of sensitive data in PDF and image documents. Document processing happens primarily in the user’s browser; only extracted text is sent to third-party providers for AI-based detection (see Privacy Policy).

3. Registration and account

No registration is required for the free offering. Paid plans require an account. Users must provide accurate information and keep their credentials confidential.

4. Pricing and payment

Current pricing is available on the pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled. Users can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current billing period.

5. User obligations

The user is solely responsible for the contents of uploaded documents and for verifying the completeness and accuracy of all redactions before sharing.

6. Liability

The operator accepts no liability for incomplete or incorrect redactions. Users must carefully review every exported document before sharing. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence to the extent permitted by law.

7. Availability

The operator strives for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service.

8. Changes to the terms

The operator may amend these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes.

9. Final provisions

The law of the operator’s registered seat applies. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
